German castle museum Veste Heldburg
The Veste Heldburg was a high medieval castle that was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in the 16th century. It is located on a 405m high volcanic cone in the Heldburger Land, 113m above the town of “Heldburg”. The castle was founded in the 12th or 13th century and has been called the “Franconian Lamp” since the 14th century due to its location. The Veste Heldburg German Castle Museum has been located there since September 2016.
With a drive of 20 km, the German Castle Museum Veste Heldburg is a great excursion destination and not far from the Basaltwerk-Villa holiday home.
